Singapore Kids' Museum Free Entry Days 2026 — Complete Calendar

Kids Activities Asia TeamMay 4, 20264 min read

Singapore is an incredible city for kids — but with family museum tickets easily hitting $60–80 SGD for a family of four, costs add up fast. The good news? Most museums offer free entry on specific days, and some are permanently free.

Here's your 2026 calendar for free museum days in Singapore.

Permanently Free (No Planning Needed)

  • Asian Civilisations Museum — Free for Singaporeans & PRs. Tourists pay $20.
  • National Museum of Singapore — Free for Singaporeans. Tourist rates apply but the Singapore History Gallery is always free.
  • Singapore Art Museum (SAM) — Free entry for all. Donations welcome. The Tanjong Pagar Distripark location has a fantastic kids' discovery corner.
  • Buddha Tooth Relic Temple Museum — Free entry. Compact but fascinating. Good for a 30-minute stop during a Chinatown outing.

Free on Weekdays (Check Before You Go)

  • ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands — Free for Singaporeans on Thursday evenings (6pm–9pm). The 'Future World' digital art exhibition is the main draw for kids.
  • Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum — Free for Singaporeans on Wednesdays (10am–12pm). Must book online in advance — slots fill within hours.

Free on Public Holidays & Special Days

  • Open House Singapore (last weekend of April) — 50+ museums and heritage venues free. The 'Museum Roundtable' pass lets kids collect stamps for prizes.
  • Children's Season (June school holidays) — Most museums offer free entry for kids ages 18 and under. Special workshops and performances included.
  • National Day (August 9) — All national museums free for everyone. Expect queues but it's worth it.
  • Deepavali (October/November) — Free entry + cultural performances at Indian Heritage Centre.

Our Favorite Budget Museum Day

Start at the National Museum of Singapore (free for Singaporeans, $20 for tourists), walk to Singapore Art Museum (free for all), then finish at the Asian Civilisations Museum (free for locals). All within a 15-minute walk. Grab lunch at the Fort Canning Park food stalls between stops.

Pro Tips

  • Always check the museum's website before visiting — free day schedules can change monthly
  • Wednesday and Thursday mornings are the quietest (even on free days)
  • Bring a refillable water bottle and snacks — museum cafés are expensive
  • Download the museum's app for kids' trails and audio guides before you go (WiFi can be patchy in galleries)
  • Combine with playground visits — Fort Canning Park (near National Museum) and Marina Bay's Children's Garden (near ArtScience Museum) are excellent
